Who We Are
ABOUT RELIEF AND SUPPORT SERVICES
Founded in 1976, Relief and Support Services Canada has remained steadfast in its vision to support the impoverished people of Africa. In response to the growing AIDS crisis and the increasing number of orphaned children, the organization launched an initiative to offer hope and a future to these orphans.
Relief and Support Services Canada is a non-profit, non-denominational, registered charitable organization that administers relief and support programs in Canada, while directing funds and operations through our counterpart organization, Relief and Support Programs, in Kenya.
The organization is led by five directors and three advisory council members, who generously volunteer their time, resources, and expertise to uphold financial accountability and integrity.
OBJECTIVES:
- Raise awareness in Canada of the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs in Kenya due to the AIDS pandemic, and provide a means to send aid in the name of Christ.
- Raise funds in Canada to support national pastors in Kenya, assisting them in spreading the gospel and serving their local communities.
- Provide physical and spiritual care for AIDS orphans in Kenya by funding monthly child sponsorships.
- Encourage and establish long-term self-sustainability for sponsored individuals and local projects through training and education.
- Adhere to the standards set by the Canadian Council of Christian Charities.

Sponsorship Opportunities
Your financial support will make a lasting impact on the lives of orphans and widows, while also sustaining the vital work of national pastors. It will provide essential resources such as seed, fertilizer, food, building materials, and housing for the impoverished in this region of the world.
Sponsor a Pastor
When you sponsor a national pastor, you’re empowering a dedicated servant to spread the gospel, care for widows and orphans, and provide for families in desperate need of life’s most basic necessities. Those wishing to sponsor a pastor will be assigned a national pastor from one of the five districts. This sponsorship helps the pastor feed his family and raise his children, as many congregations are too poor to provide this support. You can choose a pastor from our online profiles below, or allow RSSC to select one on your behalf.
To learn more about sponsoring a pastor and their family, contact us today and make a meaningful difference in their ministry.

PROJECTS
Widows often face overwhelming challenges, left without resources to support themselves or their children. Through the Widow Assistance program, women are given the tools, training, and seed funding to start small businesses that provide steady income and renewed dignity. With your support, widows gain the ability to provide food, clothing, and education for their families, building a path toward independence.
Access to healthcare is often out of reach for families living in poverty. The Medical Assistance program helps cover the cost of vital medications, doctor visits, and life-saving medical procedures for those who cannot afford them. Your generosity can mean the difference between ongoing suffering and restored health for children, widows, and families in need.
The Poultry Program equips young people with the resources to begin their own sustainable source of food and income. Each starter flock includes five hens, a rooster, and initial feed, empowering youth to raise chickens that provide eggs for nutrition and sale. Over time, the flock grows, creating a steady cycle of opportunity, self-reliance, and hope. Your support gives a young person the tools to succeed.
With a heart to serve the impoverished street children of Bungoma, Kenya, Pastor Julius and his wife, Metrine, founded and continue to operate Free To Be Academy.
To date, they have rescued 73 street children—and this number continues to grow as the ministry expands. At Free To Be Academy, the children experience Christ-like love and compassion while receiving shelter, food, clothing, and education.
Funds given to Free To Be Academy help provide for the children’s ongoing needs, ensure food security, cover staffing expenses, and support future growth. Every gift, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated and should be marked: “Free To Be Academy – General.”
Thank you for prayerfully considering how you can support this vital ministry!
Together, We Can Make a Difference
Your contribution can provide food, housing, and essentials to those who need it most.
