SERVING THE PEOPLE OF KENYA IN CHRIST’S NAME

RSSC NEWS UPDATES

Communication is an important component of our organization.

Kisumu Hit Hard By Drought Conditions

Located in the Lake Victoria Basin of Kenya, the Kisumu region is a primary area where Relief and Support Services Canada provides support to many orphans and churches. This area is facing a severe food shortage due to the current drought conditions.  They are praying for the early rains which usually take place in March and April, so that they can plant their crops and see them grow.

Of course between now and the next harvest they are struggling to get enough food to eat because the later rains never came last year, so their crops have failed.

RSSC has sent funds for Maize (corn) for food, but they will require additional support until the next favorable harvest. One family will use a 90 kg bag of maize per 1 month at a cost of 3,800 shillings ($45 CAD) per bag.
